“Compared with other creatures on the planet, our brain is the most advanced part of the human body while other parts are comparatively weaker. The brain-computer interface (BCI) is a perfect fusion of life sciences and IT, representing a new and potentially revolutionary field which allows us to bypass the body own organs and control external devices with our brains. For patients, the BCI can restore their independent living and communication abilities and help them to return to the society. For healthy people, the BCI can endow them with “X-powers” such as exceptional execution speed, precision and efficiency. It is these and other possibilities offered by BCIs which have attracted me to work in this field.”
